Did you hear about the grass fires in Sparta on Tuesday? Here's an email I got from my dad on Wednesday. 
Subject: Tuesday Excitement. As most of you know, there was a large grass fire on highway BC on Tuesday night. What you might not know is, that the fire spread through the valley and came to about 20 or 30 yards of the back of the farm. We had a large fire truck in our yard and several smaller brush trucks back on the farm. Mom and I walked back there today and could see how close the fire came. It was scary. You could see the trenches the DNR bulldozers cut into the hill to stop the spread and the ground was covered with the blue residue from the retardant that was dropped from the planes. It was quite an experience. Seth took some pictures and when we get them downloaded, we'll send them out. Love, Dad
Yikes! I am thankful that everything turned out ok. And also thankful for all of the heroes who battled the blaze! You rock!!

We were out for a little drive last weekend and I took a picture of the BEST thing to happen in Sparta for YEARS!! Yes! We're getting a Rudy's in Sparta! I can't wait for opening day which according to the website will be later this month!******
