Hi and thanks for checking out my blog today. As we get ready to celebrate the end of a work week, let us not forget our neighbors in Haiti as they start a hellish weekend of recovery. Celebrities are stepping up and donating to disaster relief in Haiti. On Friday, Jan. 22, George Clooney will host a live telethon to benefit earthquake victims in Haiti. Clooney's rep says the telethon is now set to air on all of the MTV channels worldwide, along with ABC, NBC, HBO, and CNN. US cell phone users have contributed more than $5 million in $10 increments to the Red Cross for Haiti disaster relief, by far the largest outpouring of support via mobile devices in history. To donate to the Red Cross, mobile users are texting the word "Haiti" to the number 90999.

Well, now here's an interesting story. First off let me say that I am a fan of tattoos. I have a few that are pretty well hidden so I only show them when I want to. I certainly would NEVER get ink on my face! But that's exactly what a young man by the name of Matthew did. Matthew went to the tattoo parlor where he gets a pair of glasses tattooed over his eyes. I have never been addicted to cigarettes but I have friends who are and I completely sympathize with them in their efforts to quit smoking. It's a terrible, insidious habit. Maybe instead of those little teeny tiny warnings on cigarette packs they should just show this picture instead.

On a lighter note...good news for Ferris Bueller fans! Matthew Broderick has given Hollywood bosses the green light to remake his classic movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," The bad news is Broderick says he doesn't want any involvement in it. What do you think? Should they do a remake? Do you want to see what kind of person Ferris grew up to be? Or should they just let Ferris stay forever young? =
