As we Americans drink green beer and gorge on corned beef and cabbage, people living in Ireland (you know, REAL Irish people...) are more likely to treat this day more seriously. Sort of like how we treat Thanksgiving. Not only that, but apparently the Real Irish think our tradition of green beer is pretty odd. Odd Americans. Go figure.

Foodie website Chow.com has unveiled ten ways to cook with Guinness Stout for St. Patrick's Day. Chow.com has posted recipes for traditional fare like Irish Cheddar and Stout Fondue and Braised Beef that incorporate the dark, Irish brew. The website has also served up a few surprises like Guinness-Milk Chocolate Ice Cream and Chocolate Guinness Cupcakes. What's in the cupcakes? Eggs, milk, sour cream, unsweetened cocoa, other standard items from the pantry, and entire bottle of beer. Guinness got its start in Dublin, Ireland in the 18th century.
