USA! USA! USA! Yesterday was a banner day for Team USA, as Alpine skier Lindsay Vonn, speed skater Shani Davis and snowboarder Shaun White each won gold! I love Shaun White. He's awesome! Or as one of my Facebook friends says, 'shaun white is bad ass... unreal how good that guy is'. Too true, too true.

Along with all of the skill and talent of our Olympians, comes the falls, the spills and the 'ooops' as well. Here are some Olympic Fails...and they do make me feel a little better about my athletic inadequacies. =

Remember back in the late 70's when King Tut's artifacts were on display and everyone was obsessed with him? And Steve Martin did that hilarious Saturday Night Live skit singing his song 'King Tut'. Well, now we're learning that the King may not have lived such a royal life. After extensive DNA tests and CT scans, the results of which were published this week in the Journal of the American Medical Association, we hear that the King was one sick puppy. He was a frail, weak boy who had a bit of a club foot and who needed a cane to walk. The study also revealed that King Tut's mother and father were brother and sister. It just goes to show that being a living god - and now a dead one- is not always what it's cracked up to be. =

The Olympics aren't the only thing happening in Canada. Our neighbors up North were also recently the hosts of the World's Largest Dodge Ball Game.

Why do we love the Olympics? Is it the patriotism? Is it the two week long parade of international hotties? The never ending supply of Lifetime movie-worthy inspirational stories? The adrenaline rush of nonstop athletic competition? Well, yeah sure. But really...it's because we have another excuse to party!!
