The lead singer for The Knack has died. The "L.A. Times" reports Doug Fieger passed away Sunday from cancer at his Woodland Hills home. He was 57. The Los Angeles-based band captured the nation with their 1979 number-one hit "My Sharona," which Fieger claimed was inspired by an ex-girlfriend. The Knack signed with Capitol Records in 1978 after they were discovered on the L.A. club scene. The following year, their debut album "Get the Knack" was released. The album spawned another hit, "Good Girls Don't." The Detroit native had been battling cancer for several years. Funeral services are pending.

We Are The World took the world by storm originally 25 years ago and since then there has been a couple of tries to remake it. In the wake of the Haiti earthquake and massive destruction that took place there, artists joined together once again singing this iconic song for the benefit of the Haitian peoples plight. There are some old faces who joined in and many new stars as well. The main return is that of Lionel Richie who was the co-writer of the song along side Micheal Jackson. Many fans will be happy to see they slotted Micheal in as well by putting in a clip from the original song where he sung and have Janet Jackson sing along. The official music video was premiered during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics on Friday. Here's a complete list of performers and the music video.
