If you've got both kids and pets...here's a warning: Keep the little ones away from the dog food! Scientists are linking salmonella infections in children to dry pet food. Over a two year period, a total of 32 kids aged two years or younger are thought to have been infected in homes where pets were fed in the kitchen. Experts recommend that children younger than five not be allowed to handle pet food or treats and say that kids should be kept clear of feeding areas. Funny, when I first read this I thought they meant that kids were eating the dog food! Although my niece used to eat dog food all the time and we never really thought anything of it...she's got a beautiful coat and really white teeth!
